Angle of Attack

As a direct result of our programs emphasis on safety in the FLS Microjet, we include an AOA system as standard equipment.  A vane type AOA was specified because it is the most direct means of sensing an aircraft’s true angle of attack. RiteAngle produces the unit that was selected, and worked extensively with us to tailor an AOA system for the FLS Microjet.  This collaboration resulted in their newest product, the RiteAngle Elite.  As part of this effort, we designed and prototyped a new high speed miniature vane.  In addition, we designed an exclusive new pitot static nose boom that integrates AOA vane mounting on our FLS Microjet.

AOA Display Function

The RiteAngle Elite includes AOA calibration for extended flap positions, which alter the aircrafts angle of attack.  Because it is used to measure the critical parameter of lift coefficient, the RiteAngle AOA system is designed to be a self contained and stand alone unit, and thus does not rely on any other equipment to function.
