Electrical
The FLS Microjet electrical system is comprised of three independant 24 vdc electrical busses; powerplant, avionics, and airframe.
The three busses provide more versatility than a single master switch buss. Panel mounted push button swiches activate each buss. A panel mounted annunciator displays the status of each circuit, which are grouped by the corresponding bus.
The powerplant load center is dedicated for the engine and its related systems. This includes the fuel pumps, smoke oil pump, digital fuel and smoke levels, and engine monitor display. No external power source is required for startup.
Although the avionics and airframe busses are separate electrical systems, we designed an interconnect capability in case a system defaults. Basically, the avionics buss powers the nav/com radio, left EFIS display unit, transponder, and headphone tone annunciator. The airframe buss powers airframe components that are essential for flight. This includes: AOA, electric trim, flap positioning system, gear warning, HOTAS, LED strobe and position lights, and LED indicator and warning lights.
